The Roselli Hunting knife, UHC combines our original hunting knife design from 1976 with Roselli’s own Ultra High Carbon steel. Originally developed for Finnish moose hunters, the knife has a minimalist, functional design shaped by decades of use in demanding Nordic hunting conditions.
Its blade profile is designed for skinning, field dressing and controlled cutting when processing large game such as moose, deer and wild boar. The shape provides excellent control for precise cuts when separating hide from meat, while remaining versatile enough for a wide range of hunting tasks.
At the heart of the knife is Roselli’s own Ultra High Carbon (UHC) steel, developed for those who demand exceptional sharpness and outstanding edge retention. Hardened to approximately 64 HRC, the blade takes an exceptionally keen edge and holds it through demanding, precise cutting, meaning more time working with a sharp knife and less time resharpening.
The handle is crafted from curly birch and treated with linseed oil for a secure and comfortable grip, even in wet or cold conditions. The natural grain and character of the wood make every handle unique.
Each knife is crafted, sharpened and finished by hand in Harmoinen, Finland. It comes with a handcrafted sheath made from dark, vegetable-tanned Finnish leather for secure carry and long-term use.
Roselli UHC steel is optimized for exceptional sharpness and long-lasting edge retention. Like any high-hardness knife steel, it performs best in cutting and slicing rather than striking against bone or other very hard materials. Use it for what it was designed to do, and the remarkably sharp edge will stay with you for a long time.
